Description
The Japanese Maple is one of the most popular garden trees today. The term 'Standard' for this item refers to its trunk and form which allows this deciduous tree to grow from 10-20 feet high.
The deeply lobed leaves turn green in summer then different shades of yellow and orange before turning vivid crimson in the fall. It has an arching, vase-shaped growth habit. If grown in a sheltered semi shaded position it will develop an elegant branching crown. Use as a lawn tree or landscape accent.

Care
Sun Needs:
Full sun/part shade. For all Japanese Maples it’s important to think about light exposure: Too much light can damage delicate leaves. Too little light, and some of the more colorful varieties will take on an attractive greenish tone, but not the brilliant fall colors. For best color, most maples need a location with part day's sun or at least high light.
Soil/Water Needs:
Moist, organically rich, slightly acidic, well-drained soil. Prefers consistent moisture: Mulch will help retain moisture. Don't let soil dry out, nor become waterlogged.
